Okay, folks, let’s dive into this little project I tackled today. It’s all about “keel, basketball, rubber tree, timber” – sounds like a random word salad, right? But there’s a method to my madness, I promise!

So, I started by thinking about basketballs. You know, that satisfying thump when they hit the floor? That got me thinking about the floor itself, and specifically, the wood used in basketball courts.

That’s where the “timber” part comes in. I went down a rabbit hole researching different types of wood used for sports flooring. Maple is the big one, of course, but I was curious about other options.

Then, “rubber tree” popped into my head. Not for the court itself, obviously, but I remembered reading somewhere that the sap from rubber trees (that’s latex!) is sometimes used in the keel of certain types of boats. Totally different application, I know, but my brain made the connection.

I did search from the Internet, that the keel is that fin-like thing on the bottom of a boat that helps it stay stable. It’s kinda like the backbone of the ship,So, there I was, thinking, if they are use the rubber tree on the keel.

I spent a good hour just browsing, going from basketball court construction to shipbuilding materials. It was all over the place, but that’s how my brain works sometimes!

Finally,I realized the project.I combined all of my * wood floor is timber, basketballs need rubber, rubber tree can make rubber and also can be * the rubber can also put on the keel!
