Okay, so I’ve been wanting to redo my floors for, like, forever. And I finally took the plunge! I decided to go with this “rubber dancing hevea wooden flooring” thing I saw – sounded kinda fancy, but mostly I just liked the look of it. Turns out, “hevea” is just the fancy name for the rubber tree, and it makes for some seriously cool flooring.

Getting Started

First things first, I cleared out the whole room. Furniture, rugs, everything. It was a pain, but you gotta do it. Then came the cleaning. I swept, vacuumed, mopped – the works. I wanted a super clean surface to work with. I had some old flooring. My old flooring was gross, so that had to go. I spent, an afternoon just ripping up the old stuff.

The Process

Then I measured everything like a thousand times. I didn’t to cut something too short. I unboxed The * smelled kinda like… well, like wood, but also a little bit like a new tire? Not in a bad way, though. Kind of fresh, actually.

Next, I laid out the first few rows without any glue, just to get a feel for it. It’s like a giant puzzle, making sure all the pieces fit together right.I cut the flooring. I used a saw, but it was pretty easy to work with. It wasn’t like cutting through super hard oak or anything. I mean rubber wood.

Then I applied the adhesive. I used a notched trowel.I placed the flooring. I pressed down hard on each piece, making sure it was nice and snug against the * I repeated the process. Row by row, I slowly covered the floor. It took a while, but seeing it come together was super satisfying.

Finishing Up

Finally, I cleaned up any extra adhesive and gave the whole floor a good once-over. I installed the baseboards. I always forget about the baseboards. I let the glue dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions. I put all the furniture back.

I was exhausted, my back was killing me, but…it looked amazing. I was very happy.

Honestly, the hardest part was probably just the time it took. It’s not rocket science, but it does take some * the result? Totally worth it. My floors look awesome, and they feel great underfoot – kind of springy, which is nice. Plus, I did it myself, which is always a good feeling.
