Okay, so today was kinda weird, but in a fun way. I decided to mess around with this phrase “rubber dancing rubber tree timber” and see if I could, I dunno, make something out of it. It all started with me just repeating the words over and over. It’s such a goofy combination, right?

First, I grabbed my notebook and jotted down the phrase. Then I started thinking, what does this even mean? “Rubber dancing” made me think of something bouncy and silly. “Rubber tree” obviously made me think of, well, a rubber tree! And “timber”…that’s where I got a little stuck.

My Little Experiment

I decided to break it down:

  • Rubber Dancing: I imagined a little rubber ball bouncing around all crazy-like.
  • Rubber Tree: I pictured one of those big, leafy rubber trees, maybe with some sap dripping down.
  • Timber: I figured this had to do with wood, like a fallen tree or something.

So, I started sketching. Seriously, just doodling. I drew a bouncy ball with little legs, kind of dancing around a very simplified rubber tree. Then, I added a log lying on the ground nearby, to represent the “timber” part. It looked…interesting, to say the least.

After that, because I was getting a little carried away,I grabbed some clay.

I tried sculpting, to get those rubber, tree, timber all together.

And I tried to make a little scene based on my sketch. The ball was easy enough, just a round blob of red clay. The tree was a bit trickier – I rolled out a long, brown piece and tried to make it look like a trunk, then stuck some green bits on top for leaves. The log was just another, smaller brown blob. I try to use the clay pressed all together.

The whole thing ended up looking pretty messy, but hey, it was fun! It’s amazing what you can do with a random phrase and a little bit of imagination. I might try to refine it later, maybe even paint it. Or maybe I’ll just leave it as a reminder of this weird, creative afternoon. Who knows, maybe “rubber dancing rubber tree timber” will become my new artistic muse! (Probably not, but it’s fun to think about.)
