Alright, guys, let’s talk about my recent project: putting together a keel basketball hevea portable wooden flooring. It sounded way fancier than it actually was, trust me.

Getting Started

First things first, I ordered the flooring. It came in these big, heavy boxes. I’m no weightlifter, so getting them into my garage was workout number one. I had to call the local friend and bribed him with beer to help me unload everything.

The Prep Work

  • Cleared the space: This meant moving all the junk in my garage to one side. I swear, I have enough random stuff to open a small hardware store.
  • Cleaned the concrete floor: I swept, vacuumed, and even mopped it a bit. You know, trying to be all professional and stuff.

Laying Down the Keel

The keel is basically the understructure, these wooden strips that create the support. I laid them out according to the very basic instructions that came with the flooring. It was like a giant, low-stakes puzzle. Had to make sure they were evenly spaced, using my trusty tape measure more times than I could count.

Putting the Floor Together

This was the fun part, in theory. Each piece of the actual wooden flooring had these little tongue-and-groove things. You had to fit them together, which sounds easy, but sometimes they were stubborn. I ended up using a rubber mallet (and a lot of grunting) to gently persuade them into place.

The Slow and Steady Process

It wasn’t a race. I worked on it a few hours each evening. Slowly but surely, the floor started to take shape. I took my time to make sure everything was snug and level. My knees were definitely complaining by the end of each session.

The Finishing Touches (Almost)

Once all the flooring was down, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment. But, I still had to put on the edge trim, those finishing pieces that make it look all neat. That’s a project for next weekend, though. I needed a break!

The Final Result (So Far)

Even without the trim, it looks pretty darn good. I can actually bounce a basketball on it, and it feels solid. My kids are already using it for their own little games. I’m calling it a win, even though my back might disagree.

The friend came and check and test it, then he help me to put on the edge trim.

All things are done, and my family all love it.
