Alright, let’s gab about this LVL volleyball pine timber stuff, ya know? Folks keep jabberin’ about it, so I figured I’d put in my two cents. Don’t expect no fancy words from me, just plain talk, like we’re sittin’ on the porch swingin’ our feet.
First off, they say pine trees ain’t the toughest. Yeah, they look pretty and all, but they ain’t like them fancy walnut trees that fetch a pretty penny. Them walnut trees, now they’re somethin’ else. But pine? It’s soft, they say. Scratches easy, dents if you look at it wrong. Like my old kitchen table, bless its heart. Had it for years, but it shows every bump and bruise.
- They use fancy words like “veneer.” Sounds like somethin’ you put on furniture to make it look nice, I reckon.
- But this LVL stuff, it’s different. They take them pine trees and do somethin’ to ’em, make ’em stronger.
- Like they’re puttin’ muscles on a skinny fella, you know?
Now, they tell me this LVL stuff costs a bit more. More than just plain ol’ wood, that is. But see, I figure it might be worth it in the long run. Like buyin’ a good pair of boots instead of them cheap ones that fall apart after a month. This LVL, they say it lasts longer, don’t warp and twist like some wood does when it gets wet. We had a porch once, built with cheap wood. Warped somethin’ awful after a few rains. Had to tear the whole thing down, what a waste.
They use this LVL stuff for beams and such, you know, the things that hold up a buildin’. They say it’s strong, real strong. Can hold up a lot of weight. And it’s lighter too, which I guess makes it easier to work with. My grandson, he works construction, he’s always complainin’ about haulin’ heavy stuff around. Maybe this LVL would make his job a little easier, huh?
Folks are even buildin’ tall buildin’s with this stuff, can you believe it? Wood buildin’s, taller than anything I ever seen around here. Makes you wonder what they’ll think of next. Australia, they say, is big on this tall timber stuff. Good for them, I say. Always tryin’ new things, those Aussies.
They got all sorts of trees they use for wood, oaks and maples and such. But this LVL, it’s somethin’ special. They take them pine veneers and glue ’em together, make somethin’ stronger than just the plain wood itself. Like takin’ a bunch of thin twigs and makin’ a broom, strong enough to sweep the porch clean. It’s smart, I tell ya, real smart.
Now, if you’re buildin’ somethin’ outside, like a deck, they say this LVL is the way to go. Keeps it straight and sturdy. Nothin’ worse than a saggy deck, makes you feel like you’re gonna fall through any minute. We had a neighbor, his deck was so crooked, looked like a roller coaster. He finally had to tear it down, what a mess.
So, is this LVL volleyball pine timber worth the extra money? Well, I ain’t no expert, but from what I hear, it seems like it might be. If you want somethin’ strong, somethin’ that’ll last, somethin’ that won’t warp and twist on ya, then maybe it’s worth considerin’. Just like buyin’ a good pair of shoes, sometimes you gotta spend a little more to get somethin’ that’ll go the distance. That’s just plain common sense, ain’t it?
And hey, if they’re usin’ it for volleyball courts, it must be pretty darn good, right? Can’t have them volleyball players bouncin’ around on somethin’ flimsy, now can ya? They need somethin’ solid under their feet, somethin’ that can take a beatin’. So, there you have it, my two cents on this LVL stuff. Take it or leave it, it’s up to you.
Anyways, I gotta go make some supper now. All this talk about wood and buildin’ has made me hungry. Maybe I’ll make some cornbread, that sounds good. Y’all take care now, ya hear?
