Okay, so today was a bit of a weird one. I decided to try and combine a rubber volleyball with some wooden flooring. Don’t ask me why, I just had this idea and I needed to see if it would work.

First, I grabbed the volleyball. It’s one of those old-school, kind of heavy rubber ones, not the soft, fluffy kind. Then I went out to the garage where I have some leftover wooden flooring planks from when I redid the living room.

The Messy Part

I started by trying to, like, stick the wood to the ball? I don’t even know what I was thinking. I put some glue on the wood, and I also tried putting glue on the ball, but the wood kept falling. This part took a little while, and the glue was getting all over the place.

I tried to used some tools, and also some other stuff to support the wood pieces, to make it stable, but nothing worked.

Giving Up

  • It didn’t work.
  • The ball is round.
  • The wood is flat.
  • Duh.

So yeah, my grand experiment was a total bust. My hands got sticky and the ball just ended up covered in glue, wood board falling apart, and no “rubber volleyball solid assembling wooden flooring” masterpiece to show for it. I guess some ideas are just better left in your head. Maybe I should take a break and think it over before start working!
