Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this here… uh… laminate basketball beech assembled wooden floorin’, or whatever they call it. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But lemme tell ya, it ain’t so hard to put down, even for an old gal like me.
First off, ya gotta get the floor ready. Make sure it’s clean, real clean, ya know? No dirt or nothin’. Sweep it good, maybe even vacuum it if ya got one of them fancy things. If the floor’s got big bumps or holes, ya gotta fix ’em. Use some kinda filler stuff, the kind they sell at the store. Gotta make it smooth, see? Otherwise, the floorin’ won’t lay flat and it’ll look all wonky.
Now, for the installin’. They say ya need some special tools, but I just used what I had layin’ around. A hammer, a saw – the kind ya use for wood, ya know? And a pencil, gotta mark things. Oh, and a ruler, gotta measure stuff. And somethin’ to kneel on, ’cause my knees ain’t what they used to be.
- Start in the corner, the biggest part of the room.
- Lay the boards out, side by side, longways, ya know? Like how the room is long.
- If ya already got some floorin’ down, try to make it go the same way. Makes it look nicer.
They say ya can glue it down, but I didn’t. Seemed like too much trouble. Just snapped them pieces together, they fit real nice. Like puzzle pieces, but bigger. If ya gotta cut a piece, just measure it real good and saw it off. Ain’t rocket science. Just be careful, don’t wanna cut yourself.
Keep on goin’, row by row. Make sure them seams are tight. Don’t want no gaps, that’s where the dirt gets in. And if ya gotta go around a corner or somethin’, just cut the piece to fit. It’s like sewin’, ya gotta make it fit the pattern.
When ya get to the edges, ya might need to cut the pieces lengthwise. Just measure it, mark it, and cut it. Easy peasy. And then, ya gotta put down them trim pieces, ya know, the ones that go along the wall. Covers up the edges, makes it look purdy. Just nail ’em in, or glue ’em, whatever ya want.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but I put down this floorin’ in my kitchen, and it looks pretty good, if I do say so myself. It’s easy to clean, too. Just sweep it up or wipe it down. No fuss, no muss. And it’s held up pretty good, even with all the grandkids stompin’ around.
So, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of these laminate basketball beech assembled wooden floorin’ things, don’t be scared. It ain’t so hard to put down. Just take your time, follow the instructions – well, sorta follow the instructions, I kinda just winged it – and you’ll be fine. And if an old gal like me can do it, so can you. It’ll make your house look nice, real nice. Folks will come over and say, “Oh my, that’s a nice floor!” and you’ll feel all proud. And that’s what matters, ain’t it?
Anyways, that’s my two cents on this here floorin’. Hope it helps ya out. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. Got some potatoes boilin’ on the stove. Don’t want ‘em to burn.
Remember, measure twice, cut once. And don’t be afraid to ask for help if ya need it. There ain’t no shame in that. We all gotta start somewhere. Now go on and get that floorin’ done. You’ll be glad ya did.
And one more thing, make sure ya buy enough of that floorin’ stuff. Don’t wanna run out in the middle of the job. That’s a real pain. Been there, done that, ain’t fun. So, measure your room real good, and then buy a little extra, just in case. Better safe than sorry, I always say.
Alright, I’m done talkin’ now. Go on, get to work. And don’t forget to take breaks. This old lady’s gettin’ tired just thinkin’ about all that work. Good luck!
