Okay, so the other day I had this project to tackle – installing rubber volleyball beach assembly wooden flooring. Sounds fancy, huh? It’s basically putting together a wooden floor that’s good for, you know, beach volleyball. I’m no expert, but I figured, how hard could it be? Famous last words, right?
Getting Started
First things first, I gathered all the materials. I had these big rolls of rubber underlayment, the wooden planks (which looked kinda like giant puzzle pieces), and a whole bunch of tools I wasn’t entirely sure how to use. I also printed out a “simple” instruction manual that, spoiler alert, wasn’t so simple.
The Underlayment Mess
I started by rolling out the rubber stuff. This was supposed to be the easy part, providing a cushion under the wood. But let me tell you, that rubber was heavy! I wrestled with it for a good hour, trying to get it flat and even. I ended up with a few wrinkles, but I figured the wood would hide them. (Fingers crossed!)
Plank Panic
Next up, the wooden planks. The instructions showed this neat click-and-lock system. In reality, it was more like a “bang-and-pray” system. I spent ages trying to get the first few planks together. I hammered, I pushed, I even jumped on them a little (don’t judge!). Finally, I got the hang of it, but my hands were already aching.
Slow and Steady (Sort Of)
Once I figured out the plank connection trick, things moved a little faster. But “faster” is relative. I was still sweating buckets, and my back was starting to complain. I took a few breaks to rehydrate and stretch (and maybe complain a little to my cat, who was utterly uninterested).
- Laid out the rubber underlayment (with some struggle).
- Figured out the plank connection (after some serious frustration).
- Slowly but surely assembled the rest of the floor.
- Took plenty of breaks (because, ouch, my back!).
The Final Result
Finally, after what felt like a lifetime, I was done! The floor was assembled. It wasn’t perfect – a few gaps here and there, maybe a slightly uneven spot – but it was done. I stood back, admired my handiwork (with a healthy dose of relief), and decided that I deserved a very large pizza. And maybe a massage.
So, that’s my story of installing a rubber volleyball beach assembly wooden floor. Would I do it again? Maybe. But next time, I’m definitely getting some help!
