Okay, so today I decided to get my hands dirty with this “keel Volleyball soft maple timber” project. I’ve been meaning to build a new support structure for my backyard volleyball net, and I figured, why not go all out and use some quality materials?
Getting Started
First things first, I gathered all my tools. This included my trusty saw, a drill, some heavy-duty screws, measuring tape, and of course, safety glasses. Can’t forget those!
Next, I headed to the local lumber yard. I specifically asked for soft maple – I wanted something durable but not too heavy. They showed me a few options, and I picked out a couple of nice, straight pieces that looked perfect for the keel.
The Build
Back home, I laid out the timber and started measuring. I’m no expert carpenter, but I had a basic plan sketched out. The main thing was to create a strong, stable base for the net poles.
- I cut the timber into the lengths I needed.
- Then, I drilled pilot holes to make screwing everything together easier.
- I used, and I assembled the keel structure,.
Honestly, the hardest part was probably just holding everything in place while I screwed it together. An extra pair of hands would have been helpful, but I managed!
Finishing Up
With the keel assembled, I checked the new keel,it is very * worked! The net is way more stable now, even with some serious spiking action going on.
All in all, it was a pretty satisfying project. It took a bit of effort, but I’m happy with how it turned out. Plus, I got to use my power tools, which is always a win in my book!
